Four concert evenings filled with world and Polish premieres. Songs, symphonic music, drummers and street dancers, opera. From Bernstein to Braxton, from Glass to Weiser, from Mołodowska to Schulz.

On February 22-25, 2024, renowned Polish ensembles, young generation artists and international stars, such as Grammy winners Third Coast Percussion, will perform at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. What is Jewish music today? What story is hidden between the sounds? We will find out during this year's edition of POLIN Music Festival.

The 1^st "Early Spring Ballet" Festival, which will take place on February 15-25, 2024, is new in the repertoire of the Grand Theater in Poznań. It will be a platform for artistic creations by young artists who share fresh perspective on dance, youthful energy and the search for new forms of expression. The festival also refers to the rich festival history of the Poznań Grand Theater and the city's tradition in the field of dance.

"Early Spring Ballet" will open with the spectacle "Spectrum 02" - choreographic debuts of dancers of the Ballet of the Grand Theater in Poznań. In this project, nine ballet artists not only dance and act as choreographers, but also develop a communication strategy, produce promotional materials, set design, select music, costumes, etc. The choreography to Wacław Zimpel's composition, which is include in the event programme, was prepared by Manuel Sanchez Cirbian.

Through supplementary elections, the board of the Young Circle of the Polish Composers' Union for the years 2022-24 gained new people - Alina Dzięcioł and Monika Sroczyńska. Sylwia Nowastowska and Szymon Borys finished their work on the management board. The duties of the chairman of the Youth Circle will be performed by the current board member, Grzegorz Uran. Congratulations!

The Youth Circle operating within the Union was established in 1949. Its main goal is to train and prepare young composers, theoreticians and musicologists for membership in the organization and for creative participation in musical life. Many events promote young artists. Every year since 1969, the Management Board of the Youth Club has been organizing a concert as part of the events accompanying the "Warsaw Autumn".

"Polish Yearbook of Musicology", published by the Musicologists' Section of the Polish Composers' Union, invites you to its new website. The "Yearbook" publishes articles and messages in Polish and English on all musicological subdisciplines, including selected materials from the Musicological Conferences of the Polish Composers' Union.

 The "Polish Yearbook of Musicology" was established by Adolf Chybiński in 1935. Unfortunately, only two volumes were published at that time (the second in 1936). In 2004, after almost 70 years, on the initiative of the Musicologists' Section of the Polish Composers' Union, the third volume of the "Polish Yearbook of Musicology" was published, dedicated to the memory of the founders of Polish musicology, Professors Zdzisław Jachimecki and Adolf Chybiński.

Tansman Trio is currently working on a new album. Three award-winning artists will present works of Polish composers included on this album on the 19^th of February, 2024 at 7.30 p.m at NOSPR.

Roksana Kwaśnikowska, Agnieszka Podłucka and Zuzanna Sosnowska have already brought to light a number of compositions by Polish authors that were lost in the historical turmoil. And this is just the beginning of their activities! The programme of the February concert includes, among others: dense, colorful music by Roman Maciejewski, immersed in an extraordinary, fanciful sound world, and two compositions by the ensemble's patron - Aleksander Tansman.

Music lovers longing for chamber concerts and looking for beautiful sounds in the repertoire, although not necessarily the most popular and obvious ones, will probably be pleased by the presence of Mieczysław Wajnberg's String Trio in the programme.
